Mr Richard
Piper is the research director of SAS. He has more than 15
years experience living and working on plant protection in
the tropics, on a range of tropical fruit crops including
banana, papaya, lychee, mango and passionfruit.
We are
conducting research on disease diagnostic methods, pheromone
trapping and monitoring systems and novel biological control
technologies. In addition we conduct efficacy and residue
trials for registration of new pesticides.
SAS provides
independent advice on control of pests and diseases for primary
producers, as well as conducting product trials for agrochemical
companies and producer organisations. We have a well equipped
laboratory near Tully and are able to arrange residue analyses
of horticultural produce as well as water analyses.
